We've walked our feet off and almost mastered the local bus service which is very cheap and operated on a 'myki' type system. Our hotel lends out the cards free of charge; tops ups are available at the abundant 711 stores and, with one next door, it's been easy.
A bumboat (the type of boat historically used to move cargo) trip on the Singapore river was informative and enjoyable. The Singapore Flier dominates the skyline near the river and looked inviting so we joined the other tourists and sampled the view. It's very close to the formula one track being prepared for the upcoming event next month and road works are causing blockages in this area.
In the background you can see Marine Sands Hotel. It's comprised of 3 towers connected across the top by a 'boat' rooftop which contains a pool that has an infinity edge. We'd heard that, for a fee of $25 SGD you could swim in the pool, but alas this was not so!
A trip to Little India was fascinating; crowded, dirtier, noisier, colourful...just like India I guess!

This is the oldest Hindu temple in Singapore - so colourful. |
Typical of Singapore City - different shaped buildings and glorious trees. |
